For Cancer patients, radiation therapy is a long-term treatment. The duration of this treatment can be from fifteen days to two months. During this period the patient does not need to be admitted to the hospital, but has to go to the hospital every few days for treatment for a few hours. If the patients are from lower financial background, lot of cost is involved for travel, food and medicines.
Hospital management realized the need of the society to have a ‘Patient (Rugna) Seva Sadan’ with all facilities, where cancer patients and one of their relatives can stay.
With the inspiration and personal contribution of Dr. Vinayak Govilkar, president of the hospital, along with substantial contribution of some industrial establishments, social organizations and many philanthropists, the Rugna Seva Sadan was inaugurated on 18th March 2023.
Rugna Seva Sadan has 8 bedded general ward, 16 special rooms and 8 super special rooms. There is also canteen facility. Rugna Seva Sadan has been helpful for patients and their relatives to accommodate at a very low cost.
